CAMPING
Fire in the Mountains has dedicated camping zones available for all ticket holders to enjoy…and they’re epic! Available on a first-come, first-serve basis, camping tickets can be purchased on the ticketing page. Camping will be available on Red Eagle Campground and is a short 5-minute walk to the venue grounds. As the festival and campgrounds are located on Blackfeet Reservation land, which is a sovereign nation, it should be respected as such. FITM will have intentional regulations and policies in place to ensure the highest level of respect for the land and that they are carried out by all who are joining FITM.
CAMPING AT FIRE IN THE MOUNTAINS IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO RED EAGLE CAMPGROUND
THERE IS NO DISPERSED CAMPING ALLOWED ON RESERVATION LAND FOR NON-TRIBAL MEMBERS
Red Eagle Campground is on the edge of Glacier National Park and is wilderness. It is a sensitive ecological habitat that is a very densely packed Grizzly Bear habitat.
We cannot stress enough how healthy the Grizzly Bear population is in this part of the continent. We will have bear-safe storage for food, trash, and other bear attractants, and everyone will be camping next to their vehicles, so you will be able to store food, trash, and other bear attractants in your vehicles, as well. It’s imperative that all these items are stored either in the bear storage facilities we provide or in your locked car.
This cannot be stressed enough! If any food, drink, trash, toiletries, etc. are left at your campsite, they will be confiscated in order to promote safety.
Additionally, there will be plenty of porta-potties. Please note that this is dry camping, meaning no showers or electrical hookups are provided. There will be limited drinking water for people, so please arrive with plenty of water ahead of time to ease the stress on the infrastructure of this remote campground. There will also be dedicated cooking and smoking areas in the campgrounds for all to utilize.
We need to stress, there will be no showers provided to campers. You can swim in Lower Two Medicine Lake from 10am – 10pm, but we will be strictly enforcing the no bathing or use of soaps policy. If you wish to have bathrooms beyond porta-potties, we highly recommend you book a room in the surrounding towns close to Red Eagle Campground. There are a number of accommodation options in the area. A list of them is provided in our lodging section on this website.

It’s an opportunity full of pertinent and necessary information teaching you how to safely and responsibly be in bear habitat. Bear Attractants
Anything with a scent – food, coolers, garbage, beer, soda, glass bottles (even unopened), scented candles, chapstick, toiletries, pet food, dirty utensils, pots, pans, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc. Bears have an incredibly acute sense of smell and want to explore and get into anything that has a scent. Your first order of safety is not to attract them in the first place.
ALL FOOD, TRASH, AND OTHER BEAR ATTRACTANTS MUST BE STORED IN THE PROVIDED STORAGE TRUCKS LOCATED IN THE CAMPING AREA, OR PREFERABLY IN YOUR VEHICLES WHICH WILL BE NEXT TO YOUR CAMPSITE. PLEASE VIEW THE DEFINITIONS OF BEAR ATTRACTANTS AND FOOD STORAGE BELOW.
